The Advisory Board includes housing experts from around the Baltimore region, including industry leaders experienced in property management and/or housing developers, public housing agency executives who oversee the housing choice voucher programs, representatives of the Baltimore Region Fair Housing Group and fair housing advocates. These advisory board members have come together because they are passionate about broadening housing opportunities available so that families of limited income can succeed in a variety of communities throughout the region.

Expanding housing choices and increasing landlord participation in the Housing Choice Voucher Program was one of the recommended objectives listed in the Baltimore Region’s Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing. The Community Development Network of Maryland, the Regional Fair Housing Workgroup, fair housing advocates, and the Opportunity Collaborative, which provided funding for the project, saw this media campaign as one tool to help increase participation. This campaign is an education program, the goal of which is to communicate the benefits of the Housing Choice Voucher Program to community members and landlords, and provide insight into who these families are who need assistance.
